Thanksgiving. The name says it all. A time to give thanks, to reflect on what we have and enjoy time spent with loved ones. This year, in light of Hurricane Sandy, us East Coast House Partiers are even more thankful for the health and safety of our friends and family. So, we thought we'd collectively share what we have to be thankful for (our awesome readers and community, notwithstanding, of course!). Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I'm especially thankful this year for my new husband, Chris, and the wonderful time we got to spend celebrating our union with friends and family this year. Looking forward to many more happy years together! - Liz T.
I have a friend, whose daughter is about 11. When she was 3, she said she was grateful for 'eyeballs'. So every year, she says what she's grateful for, but she always has to add in 'eyeballs'! - Andy
I am thankful to be employed by an organization that is sharing what its employees are thankful for! Also for my family, good health, a roof above my head, a warm home with electricity, a full tank of gas in my car, and for friends I can always count on. - Renee
There are so many things I'm thankful for, but here are just a few. I'm thankful for...truly enjoying working with my "House Party family" (and especially Furry Fridays), making it through the year with ZERO speeding tickets, reaching my 1 year milestone as a vegan, mustering the courage to go waterfall jumping and zip-lining, spending time with my family (especially my twin sister who lives in OR), making it through Sandy and Athena safely with minimal hassle, winning an amazing Vita-mix, and discovering Pinterest! - Mel
Surrounded by amazing people who inspire, love and support each other
Living in a world where anything is possible and change is encouraged
During a time when technology gives us access to information and distant friends
For all this, I'm thankful. - Josh
I am thankful for my incredible family and all the wonderful times we share together. I'm lucky to have a life filled with laughter, smiles and love. - Liz C
I am thankful I get to watch my amazing 7-year old son grow up before my eyes. To have parents who are always there for me (although during Sandy, I got to help my Mom for a change), to be in the best shape of my life, to have two great jobs that I love, to have friends who make me laugh, and to have gone to Italy for the first, but not last, time this year. - Danielle
I am thankful for family, friends, good health and good times. After hosting Thanksgiving for the past five years, I am grateful to my parents, my sister and my niece for hosting this year and allowing our family to just "show up." I am also looking forward to my first bite of pumpkin pie....yum! - Carol
I'm thankful for my beautiful growing family, a loving husband, a sparkly new home, a tidy new nanny and pumpkin pie. God bless the pumpkins. - Robin
I'm thankful for my family and the time we spend together. I'm especially thankful for two beautiful, healthy children. I'm thankful for my own good health, and the good fortune to live a first world life. I'm thankful for good friends and a good job. Especially a good job with good friends! - Mike H.
Thankful for my wife and kids that has given me endless amount of love, reasons to laugh and celebrate no matter what is happening in the outside world. - Chris
I am thankful for the loving support of my family and friends, precious moments shared, a home-cooked meal from my husband, and the warm smiles from my 16-month old son that melt my heart when arriving home after a long work day! Happy Thanksgiving! - Melissa
I'm thankful for my two kids. - Parker
I'm extremely thankful for my family and friends. Having been affected by the Hurricane, our friends really came together to help each other out and help out those in the community. I'm also thankful for the little things like hugs from my kids and husband, a long walk with my dog and a beautiful, sunny day. - Betsy
I'm thankful for many things this year, as always, my friends and family. But I recently graduated college last May, and the job market is tough. I'm grateful to have a job and I have House Party to thank for that. - Shana
This year was big for me. I got married and became a homeowner. So there are at least two things that I feel extremely blessed to have in my life: a partner (who cooks for me) and a place to call home. I'm also grateful for loving family and friends and to live in a city that, while it can sometimes be chaotic, keeps life interesting. Happy Thanksgiving! - Stephanie B.
I'm thankful that everyone close to me made it through Hurricane Sandy with only the minor inconvenience of no power. It made me realize how much I take for granted and I'm now more appreciative of my family and everything I'm so lucky to have. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! - Jane
I'm grateful for the incredible people in my life, and being able to grow closer to them and stay connected even as we settle in different parts of the world (yay, technology!). A huge thanks to my family, friends and colleagues who make me laugh, keep me grounded, and help me accomplish my goals. -Sarah
I am truly thankful for those people in my life who have always selflessly given their time, energy, guidance and love: my fiancee, my parents and my sister to name but a few! I'm also thrilled and honored for the upcoming blessing to be an uncle. It's been quite a year and I'm blessed! (Of course, how could I leave out how thankful I am to our House Party community, their enthusiasm and the chance to interact with them each and every day, too!) - Brian
What are you thankful for?

She was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, but has since moved to the northern corner of New York City, where she lives with her boyfriend and their sassy chinchilla, Rufus. Audiophiles at heart, they've crammed-in five guitars and way more speakers and gigabytes of music than a little apartment should hold. Her party tip: no matter the size or type of party, put on music just loud enough to cover up the sound of chewing (ew!), but not chatting. [/author_info] [/author]
