Celebrating Valentine's Day: What to do if you're long-term lovers

So you've been together for years. He's wined you, he's dined you, he may have even married you. What can you do for Valentine's Day that's new, special and not so cliche? Instead of making reservations at your favorite restaurant - why not try something new? I just discovered a site called Vayable which is a community marketplace where you can discover and book tours, activities and unique experiences anywhere in the world. While this would be great while you're traveling, you don't have to go far to use it. For example, if you're a New Yorker, take an underground ethnic food tour in Queens or if you live in Boston, eat your way through history. Sounds like a fun way to spend the day with the one you love!

Forgot to buy a card for your honey or just hate fighting for a spot at the Hallmark store? Check out Just Wink and send a totally cute card any way you want: email, text, Facebook or even snail mail if you have the time. Or, create something of your own on Lovestagram - a personal way to send love via Instagram.

This is my first Valentine's Day as a wife, so Chris and I will spend the time together doing something we like to do: cooking a nice meal and enjoying some wonderful wine (thanks to a monthly wine club wedding gift). That's the key - do something you love! If you don't like big fancy restaurants (I don't, I usually can't read the menu!), then don't go! Do something you like doing together and no matter what it is, you'll enjoy the time together.

If you're not able to do something special on this day or you're just not a fan of the holiday, just don't forget to say I love you. It never gets old to hear, whether it's on February 14th or any other day of the year.

In a long-term relationship yourself? What are your plans for Valentine's Day this year?
