Pack Your Bags: Spain!
I recently had a great opportunity to visit Spain with my wife, Kimberly. We're pretty well traveled, but we didn't have extensive expectations for Spain. Our travels took us through a brief connection in Morocco to Madrid. Once in Madrid, we soaked-up all that the wonderful city had to offer: from architecture and sights to food to wine, from the warm people and the beautiful language to the history, music and flamenco dancing.
We were also very grateful to have had opportunities to take trips outside Madrid to the beautiful town of Segovia and also the historic town of Toledo. Both were absolute gems loaded with hidden streets, warm locals, delicious food (Iberian Ham and Rioja to name two of our favorites!) and amazing sights of the countryside from the tops of their historic alcazars.
Instead of droning on about the trip and the memories we made, I'll let pictures and the thousand words each that they hold to do the trick of drawing you in and tempting you to visit Spain. (Be tempted, very, very tempted - it's a truly wonderful country that is easily accessible, even the most minor attempts to speak Spanish are appreciated and often many Spaniards will come to your aid with English of their own and it's affordable as far as European travel goes right now.)
Have you visited Spain or are you planning a trip there soon?
We'd love to hear what parts of the country you loved or are planning to see. We can't wait to go back!
