Hot & Up-And-Coming in 2017
I always love to see the new trends for the New Year. I found myself reading lots of articles about what's Hot & Up-And-Coming for 2017. You can find articles for all sorts of different categories and hobbies. So, I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite things that are up-and-coming for the New Year.
Here are some movies that I will definitely go see throughout the year. For the complete list go to check out this post from The Atlantic.
John Wick: Chapter Two (February 10th)
A sequel to one of the biggest cult surprises of the decade, this Keanu Reeves action-thriller promises more of the same from 2014’s word-of-mouth sensation by the same name (save the "Chapter Two"). Reeves plays Wick, a terrifying former hit-man for the mob lured out of retirement for some plot-perfunctory reason; ridiculous, balletic violence ensues.
Beauty and the Beast (March 17th)
An unnervingly faithful-looking remake of the 1991 Disney animated classic, starring Emma Watson as the free-spirited Belle, trapped in a castle with its monstrous lord (Dan Stevens), a prince transformed into a furry beast by a witch’s curse. Expect singing, dancing, and great heaps of CGI as these two crazy kids try to figure things out.
The Fate of the Furious (April 14th)
The eighth (and certainly not final) entry in the sprawling cinematic franchise that has morphed from entertaining car-racing drama into an arcane, colorful, generation-defining series of high-wire spy capers. Fate is charting darker territory, with hero Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) seemingly turning to evil thanks to a new character, Cipher (Charlize Theron).
Wonder Woman (June 2nd)
She fought alongside Batman and Superman last year, and now she gets a starring role. After decades of attempts, the famed Amazon warrior, certainly the most iconic female comic-book superhero, is finally getting her own movie, directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster) and starring Gal Gadot. A period piece, the film will explain how Wonder Woman ended up in the modern world, departing her home island to fight in World War I alongside her love interest Steve Trevor (Chris Pine).
Red Sparrow (November 10th)
A spy thriller starring Jennifer Lawrence, based on the 2013 novel by CIA veteran Jason Matthews that was acclaimed for its attention to detail. Lawrence plays Dominika Egorova, a Russian intelligence officer who matches wits with a hotheaded rookie CIA agent (played by Joel Edgerton).
2017 Fashion Trends
These are the top 10 fashion trends that I will be introducing into my wardrobe based on much of what's floating around the fashion industry for the New Year.
- Wear leggings under a dress
- Supersize your blazer
- Buy it in yellow
- Step out in the cone heel shoe
- Wear nylon
- Do the neon floral
- Sneakers for casual wear
- Easy elegance with active inspired styles
- Mules in all colors and fabrics. Some of the styles include flat, low block-heel, heeled, Sneaker, and espadrille.
2017 Food Trends
Here are some food trends that I found very yummy.
This Hawaiian specialty has cruised to the mainland and is quickly spreading across the U.S. Traditional poke, pronounced "po-kay," is cubed, fresh raw seafood (usually tuna or octopus) mixed with soy sauce, green onions and sesame oil and served over rice.
Blaze Pizza and MOD Pizza are two chains to look out for in 2017. Both delivery and fast casual chains have seen massive sales growth that is expected to continue next year.
Chicken's popularity is expected to grow in the New Year, reflecting consumer cravings for healthier, high-protein meat. So, expect making appearances it in various dishes new and old!
Organic, antibiotic-free and hormone-free food
It's likely that Panera Bread won't be the only restaurant chain to adopt new practices.
Cold-brew coffee will continue to reign at coffee shops. Cold brew is the process of steeping coffee grounds in room-temperature or cool water for 12 hours or longer, to extract a bolder flavor from the beans.
2017 Tech & Gadget Trends
These 5 gadgets peeked my interest. They were recently unveiled at the annual CES gadget expo in Las Vegas, where companies in the tech, automotive, and home appliance industries flaunt their latest innovations.
Dell 2-in-1 Laptops
Dell introduced several convertible laptops this year, and the most notable include its Latitude 7285 and new XPS 13 models. The latter is an updated version of Dell’s already great XPS 13 that includes a flexible rotating hinge for use in different positions. Who doesn't like some flexibility?
Lenovo Smart Assistant
Lenovo’s new speaker is slightly cheaper and more colorful than others. It includes eight microphones that Lenovo says can pick up speech from 16 feet away. It’s also powered by Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant, meaning you’ll get access to the same array of “skills” that you would with Amazon’s own gadget.
Razer Project Valerie
When you’re using a laptop for doing work, playing video games, and streaming Netflix, one screen isn’t always enough. Razer’s Project Valerie concept does just that by adding two foldable displays that expand out from the primary screen in the center. Each display is 17 inches diagonally and supports 4K resolution.
PowerRay Aquatic Drone
The waterproof vehicle is compatible with an optional FishFinder add-on that uses a sonar system to detect fish and send images to the user. It operates in both fresh and salt water and includes a 4K camera that can shoot 12-megapixel stills.
LG W-Series TV
LG hopes to make large-screened TVs blend into the living room as naturally as wallpaper. The company’s new 77-inch TV is incredibly thin and light for its size, weighing just over 27 pounds. The screen itself is separated from the guts of the system.
These are just some of the fun, hot trends & up-and-coming things to be on-the-lookout for in 2017!
