Wine tour tips: a wine country survival guide

Since I’ve moved to California, I’ve discovered that one of my favorite hobbies is to go wine tasting. I live 40 minutes outside of Napa Valley and I take full advantage of my geographic location. According to my foursquare profile, I have visited 53 wineries since I created an account in July of 2010. That doesn’t count multiple visits to my favorite wineries like Saintsbury, Hill Family Estate and Kastania Vineyards. Heck, I got engaged in a winery. It’s kind of my thing. By the time this post goes live, I’ll be above the 60 winery threshold.

The top movies you can’t NOT watch

I know — that title “The top movies you can’t not watch” isn’t exactly good grammar, but I just feel there’s no better way to describe this post. We’ve all been there. You’re surfing the tube one (possibly snowy) afternoon or evening and you see a movie, which you’ve seen a hundred times already, but you just can’t not watch it! It draws you in like a black hole and before you know it, it’s two hours later and you have no idea how it happened. So, in light of the impending snowstorm here on the East Coast, we thought it would be fun to create a list of our top movies that suck you in. And of course, feel free to add your own!

This time of year is usually chock-full of box office openers and great holiday movies. Not only is the deadline approaching for a film to be considered for an Academy Award, but people always flock to the multiplex during December. And there is no shortage of films to choose from this winter: the Dec. 25 holiday typically sees three nationwide releases. This year, there are five.
